The Church of Beatified Restituta stands in Lesná, a housing estate in Brno. Architect Marek Jan Štěpán first thought of building it in 1968, in the relatively relaxed mood of those years, and the church was finished only 50 years later. He kept returning to the idea off and on all that time.
The site was picked by the architects of the estate itself, František Zounek and Viktor Rudiš. The whole thing was paid for with church offerings and donations. It is the first church dedicated to Bl. Marie Restituta, who was born about 600 meters from the spot.
