The Operations Court of Cibeles Palace in Madrid. The building went up in the early 20th century as the city's main post office, designed by Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi. It later became the Telecommunications Palace, and now houses the CentroCentro cultural space. Madrid City Council held a public competition to turn the court into a public space, and this project came out of it.
Since the building is historic, the intervention is reversible and no original structural element is touched. Most of it is mobile, so furniture and main pieces can be hidden when needed. New furniture and hanging structures mark out the reception, information and participation zones, and the hanging pieces also light the court.
