The charred timber outside is a reference to traditional Alpine barns, and the technique follows the principle of shou sugi ban. Inside, pale OSB panels create a sharp contrast with the dark facade. The volume stands on a thin concrete base next to a rocky outcrop, which together with the house forms a natural courtyard.
The space is deliberately left without a fixed function: here you can write, work or simply be silent. A climbing wall on one side and an Alpine bell under the ceiling are the only details that set the scale and character of the retreat room.
