Concrete, mesh, 99 domes. Some see a prison, others a flying saucer.
The project was conceived as a symbol of unity but ended up between Byzantine architecture and brutalism. The mesh protects against the sun but makes the facade even heavier. Inside, there is diffused light, an almost sacred silence and a sense that the space is in no hurry to adapt to the viewer.
