A depot for farm machinery in Gavi sits on a slope and mostly melts into the landscape. What gives it away is a concrete overhang. Together with the wall below it, decorated with burnt strips, the overhang first cuts the slope into levels and then ties them back together.
Light was planned as part of the building. Inside, the storage room is lit by daylight that follows the sun. Fluorescent lamps are set into the prefabricated roof slab and draw a linear pattern across the ceiling, which is easiest to see at sunset.
