A housing complex on the eastern slope of Capodimonte hill in Naples. Rossi worked on it for ten years, 1979 to 1989, with Donatella Mazzoleni, Annalisa Pignalosa and Luigi Rivieccio. The model was two British landmarks in Bath, the Circus and the Royal Crescent: a round square with housing wrapped around it.
The central piazza is ringed by a low circular building. Around it stand 12 silo-towers that hold the staircases and elevators. Six of them, 36 meters high, are residential. The architects point to Frank Lloyd Wright and Italian Rationalism as influences. In 1989 the complex won the In/Arch award from the National Institute of Architecture.
