Aldo Loris Rossi designed the Casa del Portuale in Naples as a social building for port workers. It took from 1968 to 1980 to build, and now it stands abandoned. According to some accounts, Rossi took his cue from Stalinist architecture.
The critic Bruno Zevi called it a pioneering, spectacular, subversive object that seems to claim an environmental redemption.
