The site in Lisbon is called Altinho, probably because it sits higher than the old Junqueira Street, which mostly runs lower down. From the little square nearby you can see the river and the Electricity Museum, one of the landmarks of the city's history.
The ground floor turns away from the street and shuts itself behind a wall. The upper floor opens outward: the brickwork is laid in staggered rhythm with gaps between the bricks, and through them the occupants look over terracotta rooftops to the landscape beyond.
