A series by Danila Tkachenko about places that once mattered for technical progress and now stand empty. He travels to find them himself: secret cities missing from maps, forgotten scientific triumphs, abandoned buildings of almost inhuman complexity.
His starting point is simple. Progress grows out of the wish to own more, and governments chasing "better, higher, stronger" are ready to sacrifice almost anything for it. The ending varies: nuclear war, economic crisis, natural disaster. Tkachenko is interested in what is left afterwards.
