The chapel sits in Barão de São João, in the Algarve, at the top of a hill, and the only way to reach it is on foot. It belongs to the Monte da Charneca estate and was commissioned in 2016 by the Swiss-American couple who live there. The sand-colored block, 10.34 by 6.34 meters, was inaugurated in March.
All the wooden furniture inside was designed by Siza himself. It was made by Serafim Pereira Simões Successors, a firm from Porto.
