A concrete library by the sea, completed in 2015. Vector Architects begin their description of the site with the sand: an old boat sits half-sunken in it, as if it has been there for years, and nearby stand a few tarred little houses that once sheltered fishermen.
What remained of them were broken walls and leftover shingles. They still enclosed a dark space, and through the gaps the sea looked back in stillness, like paintings hanging on the wall.
