A funeral home in Bellinzona, finished in 2016. Inside is a heavy load-bearing skeleton, outside a skin of slabs folded like origami, light-looking, with triangular facets and narrow slits. In daylight the sun reaches into the slits, and the shadows inside them move as it does.
The lead architects were Juan M. Campopiano and Alberto Julio Fresco. They set the building against the usual monumental architecture, where mass and austerity rule. The facade was built by Styl-Comp Group, the plasterwork and details by Edil Bi Suisse.
